About Me

Hi, I'm Alex, the founder of Little Picassos - this exciting new language and arts club for kids!

Some of you may wish to know a little more about me, my background and how this all came about.

So a little about my background and experience...

I’ve been teaching languages for over 10 years now. I studied Spanish and Italian with TESOL at university, and since then I’ve gained further teaching qualifications over the years. I work full-time as a private language tutor and teach both English and Spanish. I've worked with students of all ages and levels - from toddlers to adults, beginner to highly proficient, for casual, academic and business purposes. I'm fully certified in Paediatric First Aid and hold a fully Enhanced DBS certificate.

My love for languages really started when I was 18 and moved to Spain to become an au pair. I lived with a family of three children and spent every day teaching them English. It was during this time, I discovered my passion for everything Spanish! So, I returned to the UK and did my bachelors degree in languages and teaching. I fell in love with the country, so much that I found myself living there again for a year after graduating.

How Did Little Picassos Come About

Aside from languages, another passion of mine is art! I know that traditional language learning methods can sometimes feel a bit slow, outdated and boring - especially for kids. So, I really wanted to find a way to make it as exciting and rewarding as possible for my students - that’s how Little Picassos was born.

My mission is simple: I want kids to fall in love with languages while having fun, making friends, and creating happy memories. I want Little Picassos to be that special club outside of school where children can explore, learn, and express themselves, while parents get a few hours to themselves, knowing their kids are in a safe, creative, and educational space.

For me, nothing is better than seeing a child’s imagination light up, whether they’re painting a box, putting together their first Spanish phrases, or proudly showing you what they’ve made at the end of the day. That’s what Little Picassos is all about, and I can’t wait to welcome your little ones to one of our sessions.

I now run 8-week workshops throughout the year, and also offer private events, birthday parties, and even creative sessions at home (imagine a babysitter who teaches your child languages, keeps them busy with fun crafts, and makes the time fly!) So if you're interested in any of my services, please get in touch!
